My experience was very disappointing. I was encouraged to pay for an independent appraisal even though the bank already had one, and I later learned it wasn’t necessary. The lender recommended through Zillow charged an extremely high interest rate, and I also had to pay for an inspection out of pocket for a deal that never went through.Communication was confusing, and I felt I wasn’t properly informed about the process or the costs. Buyers should be very careful and make sure the short sale or approval is official before paying for anything.
