We sold our Marin townhouse with the help of Whitney Blickman of OwnMarin. While I regret having to write a negative review, we had a frustrating time with her, and we would not recommend her team to others.I'll start with the positive. Whitney is personable, experienced, and knows Marin well. I'm confident she does a great job showing homes to prospective buyers. She brought in strong vendors for staging, photography, and prep. She was ultimately able to sell our house in a tough sellers' market. However, Whitney made a lot of mistakes, small and large, throughout the process. Some of the small ones were pretty harmless. For instance, the initial description of our home she published to MLS featured a ton of obvious typos. However, these careless errors were frequent enough that it was hard to trust her attention to detail. There were also some bigger mistakes. For example, when we meant to counter an offer, she didn't check the box marking it as a counter, instead creating paperwork that technically accepted the offer. There was also a legally dubious situation in which she reused a contract we'd intended to void to open escrow, which shook our confidence in the paperwork around the sale. In general, we had a hard time communicating with Whitney. Multiple times, when there were problems or delays, she didn't admit them until we discovered them on our own. We sometimes went week-plus stretches without hearing any updates from her, even after we asked her to keep us more in the loop, leaving us wondering what was going on.It's worth hiring a real estate agent who's got great attention to detail and communication. We recommend looking elsewhere.

-Buying your first home is incredibly daunting, nerve-wracking, and stressful. When you compound that with trying to buy your first home, in Marin County, amid tremendous market and macroeconomic uncertainty, it amplifies those emotions even more. We were fortunate enough to partner with Julia Fitzpatrick over the last two years while we searched for our first home, and we could not have found a better, trusted advisor. Julia provided assurance, perspective, and candid feedback when we needed it most. Above all, Julia was patient, understanding, and supportive of how we pursued our first home. Julia's incredibly deep network and breadth of experience in the Marin County and Bay Area market gave us confidence that we'd find an exceptional first home. I'm happy to report that we were successful in our pursuit and couldn't have landed a better home in Marin. We're forever grateful for Julia and cannot recommend her enough!

My wife and I were looking for a house in Marin County for several months and had put several offers on homes without any success. We were getting very frustrated with the whole process of taking our weekends to look at homes and submitting offers only to get rejected. Then a friend recommended Real Estate Agent Julia Fitzpatrick from Own Marin who specializes in the Marin County Real Estate market. As soon as we met with her we felt a change in our attitude with the whole home buying experience. She listened to what we wanted and identified specific neighborhoods that fit our wishes. She was patient and we did not feel any pressure to make offers. Her expertise in Marin Real Estate really showed through immediately as we had been told that there were no off-market listings. But Julia showed us several off-market listings the first week we changed to her as our agent. It was invaluable to have a real estate agent specialized in Marin County as she seemed to know all the other agents showing homes and could get us quick answers to all our questions. And we had lots. We ended up finding a home that we love and was within our budget. We know we would not have gotten this home without Julia on our side. Could not be happier with Julia and Own Marin as our agent and would highly recommend to anyone!

As first time home buyers, we worked with Julia Fitzpatrick of Own Marin as our Marin County real estate agent and highly recommend her! Julia really helped us through every step in the home buying process: choosing homes to see at open houses, navigating the offer, keeping us up to date during closing, and making sure the the home was in great condition before move in. Her communication was seamless and friendly. She's very knowledgeable of the Marin market. Julia also gave us references for future renovations and moving. We'd definitely recommend working with Julia!

We were introduced to Julia Fitzpatrick through a referral from a friend, we're so glad we found her. It was our first home buying experience and she was so helpful and professional throughout the entire process, I have no idea how we would have managed without her. We were living in San Francisco while looking to buy in Marin, so we really needed someone who knew the area well. I believe we found the best real estate agent and team in Marin County!

We worked with Whitney and Barr to find our dream home in Marin. After a long and challenging search with other agents, including multiple lost offers, we finally found a team who knows Marin and knows what they are doing. Whitney found us an off-market opportunity, helped us put together a winning offer and close in record time. We are now living the California dream life in the perfect home in the perfect neighborhood and truly owe it all to Own Marin. I especially recommend them if you are new to the area or moving from SF because there are many factors to consider when buying in Marin, including flood/fire zones, schools, road noise, traffic and having actual locals on your side is key.

When we decided to move, our most pressing question was which Marin County real estate agent could sell our home most effectively in the middle of a pandemic-spooked market? A neighbor recommended Barr Haney of Own Marin—but we’d already set up a conversation thanks to Barr’s stellar reputation in Marin County. Barr had a clear plan, a team of talented tradespeople, and the temperament to calmly help us navigate a ton of decisions. Ultimately, his sure guidance resulted in a fast and contingency-free offer for our home at above asking price. We’re thrilled with the result, but even more grateful for the competent and professional way we got there.

My wife and I worked with Barr Haney from Own Marin to find a home in Marin County. He immediately impressed us with his local knowledge, measuring our wants and needs with what each area had to offer. Throughout the process, he was extremely patient and helpful; never forcing us into making a decision where we didn't feel totally comfortable and confident. And his experience and likability was evident with other brokers, which proved to be very valuable when it came time to submitting offers. In the end, he was able to deliver a prevailing offer in a multiple offer situation which landed us an excellent home in Kentfield. If you're looking for a Marin County real estate agent, Barr is as good as they come.
