My family enthusiastically endorses The Gunderman Group. Unlike the prompt above, we did not work with Andrew but with Christine as the listing agent. She was calm, knowledgeable, and great at communicating updates and issues. The GG offers services that no other realtors we interviewed can match. They organized and supervised a $300k renovation of our parents' old Orinda home, and marched it to a quick sale just below their well chosen market price. Because GG is not reimbursed for the renovation expenses until closing, they are highly incentivized to get the work done quickly and at a high quality. Since the seller children live out of state, we could not have hired, overseen the fleet of workers as well or as quickly as they did under the commendable leadership of Maureen, the project manager. We are very impressed by their service and recommend them to others with high end homes, especially if they need updating.

So, so grateful to have worked with David Gunderman, Suzanne Johansen and team. I had infrastructure work done (roof, furnace, windows, electrical, earthquake retrofit) during my 15-year ownership but due to chemical sensitivity avoided doing significant indoor updates. After initial meetings, Suzanne drafted a reasonable, appropriate plan and budget for work needed to position the house for the competitive East Bay market, which we quickly finalized, along with an amazingly compact timeline. Three months later, I made an offer on a new house, and 3 weeks later moved out and turned the keys over to Suzanne so her team could immediately go to work (which you will know is simply incredible if if you’ve ever tried to hire contractors in the Bay Area!). Suzanne managed absolutely everything and I was so grateful to be able to focus on handling the stress of a transition into a new home 3 hours away. As a retired project manager, when the dust settled, I was blown away that the team kept within budget and timeline (thanks to their strong relationships with contractors and suppliers) while still accommodating small but necessary scope changes. David and team’s marketing work, relationships with other real estate professionals, and negotiation savvy resulted in a squeaky clean contract after two open house weekends which closed quickly with zero drama.
