STOP LOOKING!!! Work with Ricky!!Since there are so many professionals to choose from when purchasing a house I decided to find an agent who we would work with for when we would actually begin the home buying process; we were not planning to start for at least 6 months. Although there are other agents that are listed as having more years of experience than him, I was very impressed with the reviews I read from people who had worked with him.I almost decided to choose someone more "seasoned" but we are so glad we chose Rick!! We actually ended up putting in an offer on a home much sooner than we had planned and it was accepted- first offer. Moving forward we asked who he recommended for things such as the home inspection, loan officers, etc. We chose to hire/work with who he suggested and again- we are so thankful we did!! Overall our first home purchase experience went smoothly and quickly. Rick was a major reason why.Unlike some people who can be arrogant when they are good at their job, Rick is kind, humble, and appreciative. He is knowledgeable and explained everything that we did not understand; he was honest and straightforward and we were confident he was trustworthy. I HIGHLY recommend Rick Gates!!!

Ricky is knowledgeable and was always there to show us around whenever we asked to do a survey on a house. He helped us look for a very cheap deal on a home loan with the cheapest interest rate available that most of the banks can't beat.He was very helpful in sharing his experience and getting all the information that we need to make the purchase.

Rick was an absolutely phenomenal agent for me, especially as I am a first time home buyer. He has a huge wealth of knowledge on the housing market here in the North Country and on the types of houses that are here in the area. He walked me through several homes, most of which were very different styles and designs, and he was able to point out areas of issue and areas of strength in each one. As he would always say, “there’s pros and cons to everything”. Our walkthroughs weren’t rushed and I didn’t feel like I was an inconvenience by asking a lot of questions. His advice was sound and helped me make a solid decision for my purchase. Rick also honored my desires for location and price range. He wasn’t pushy or trying to meet any type of agenda. It was truly what I was looking for and nothing else. Rick is also very familiar with the buying process with the VA backing. He has loads of local connections for all types of services that came in handy during the buying process and afterwards. I would absolutely recommend Rick to any one looking to buy a home, especially a first time home buyer!!

Ricky was helpful to our family for the entire process of listing, photographing, and selling our home in NY so that we could move out of town. He was very patient when issues arose that were out of his control. He was willing to go above and beyond what most people would expect because I believe he is selfless and genuinely cares about his position as an agent. He met our needs, and although it's a challenge to sell and buy a home simultaneously, he was persistent through it all and never gave up on our family. We will always be thankful to have worked with such a kind person. He is knowledgeable and provides advice that he would take himself. Rick was an outstanding realtor. I told him what I wanted and he promised to work within those limits but also explained the area and the style of homes. He immediately started sending me homes and connected me with a banker who was also outstanding. Rick was very responsive to text, emails and phone calls and worked diligently to put in my contract. I was a difficult type of customer since I lived out of state (military) and was not there to see the homes but Rick went above and beyond to send me quality videos pointing out any discrepancy no matter how minor. I would recommend him to anyone coming to the Watertown area and know that they will be in outstanding hands.
