This company was part of a shady sale that as buyers left us financially crippled, I honestly hate leaving negative reviews to anyone but what as consumers We have the right to express our concerns, and this deserves attention from potential future buyers.We are a military family who recently purchased a home from seller Joel R. Fortune, represented by Michael Daugherty as their realtor, well-know for flipping houses in this area. They owned the house for 6 months in which they did some fixer uppers, but disregarded the immense turmoil that us as buyers experienced only a week and a half later after closing and moving in. We're heartbroken by what we’ve experienced. The home located in Virginia Beach looked fine during inspection, but it turns out that serious water damage had been deliberately concealed with cosmetic fixes — fresh paint and quick patch jobs — just enough to pass inspection.Shortly after we moved in, the ceiling in both the kitchen and dining room collapsed, exposing extensive mold, rotting wood, and major structural damage. This wasn’t just a minor issue — it has impacted our health and our lives. One of us developed bronchitis and other respiratory symptoms from the mold, leading to medical bills, relocation expenses, and emotional distress. The home is now completely uninhabitable, and we’ve been forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars in emergency repairs, demolition, and mold remediation — all within weeks of moving in.We trusted that we were buying a safe home, and instead we ended up in a nightmare. There really aren’t enough words to describe Michael. Helping people is definitely his purpose in life and he excels at it. He is the most hard working person I know, he knows everything about the whole Hampton roads area. He is thoughtful and kind. He goes well above and beyond the call of duty for everyone. He lives by the golden rule and treats everyone with the utmost of respect. The service he provided still leaves me speechless two years later. He is truly one of a kind. His knowledge of the market helps his clients save money and gets their house priced right to sell quickly. AMAZING! We had the pleasure of working with Micheal last spring, we needed to sell our house fast due to a relocation. He came in, told us what we needed to do, delivered awesome pictures of our place, and made it look top notch! He is so very down to earth and "speaks your language" when it comes to explaining the process. We were able to sell at full list price in less than 30 days! We will be moving back in to the area soon and will be using him again, without a doubt!

Michael was a huge reason why we were able to get into our dream house. In the very competitive market of Virginia Beach Michael priced our house at a very competitive price and we sold it in a week at full price! Like any process there were bumps in the road but Michael kept a very positive attitude and ironed out the bumps while keeping us informed the entire time. Michael was also able to negotiate $19,900 under full price for our new house. We are very happy with our results and have already recommended Michael to friends. He is very professional, communicates well and is a great negotiator.

He is respectful, professional, very knowledgeable about inspections and has a sincere and diligence approach to finding you the right home for you. I know he is honest because one of our contracting warranties has false information. We did not know this. Michael found it and got is $1000.00 back. If we sell and buy, he is our guy.
