I will never recommend this person. I was just a quick sale, and he was on vacation most of the time. He never communicated anything to the seller, and that was left to me. Totally unprofessional. It wasn't cleaned up at all, it was a mess. I was naïve and thinking he would serve both my interests, and the sellers. I was wrong, plain and simple.

Hands down the WORST realtor in Bangor. He'll actually work against you to make the sale. I've used 9 realtors in my life buying houses and condos. Eight of them were fantastic. Jody is not one of them. Save yourself the trouble.Here are some examples: The home inspection showed the wiring was in bad shape (old knob and tube, rag wiring, exposed wiring, etc.). I asked Jody to request that the wiring be made safe or at least get some sort of credit for it. Jody pushed back and wouldn't submit the request...said the wiring was fine. ???We purchased the house and had it rewired after the electrician showed us how bad the situation truly was. We spent over $15K in plaster repairs alone due to the rewiring. The home inspection was spot on. Same thing with standing water in the basement. Jody said "It's no problem" in contradiction to the home inspection. The cost ended up being $6800.Jody will also ask you for an extra 1% in commission because it was a split deal. No other realtor in Maine does that. We decided to pull out of the deal, but it was too late contractually, so we moved forward and just kept Jody away from any of the final stages. Jody's manager sat in his place during the closing.He's truly not a buyer's agent.

Jody is like no other. Instead of pushing houses on us to make a quick sale, he took the time to learn who we were and what we wanted. It was our first time ever buying a home and to be quite frank, we were clueless. He talked with us about the ins and outs of owning a home and helped us pick a home that was PERFECT for our lifestyle and growing family. He walked us through the process step by step, gave advice, and steered us in the right direction. Jody was recommended to us from a friend who has bought and sold multiple homes with Jody, and it is now clear why he is their go-to realtor. I recommend him to everyone I know and will continue to use him in the future.

Jody Hammond was the third realtor we contacted about selling our home in Bangor, Maine. The first one was a huge disappointment (numerous bites but few showings and NO OFFERS, of course). The second one wanted us to list our house at far below market value (he was clearly only interested in a quick commission, regardless of the potential huge loss to us).<br/><br/>When we finally found Jody Hammond at Realty of Maine a year later, we were so relieved! He was very professional, extremely responsive (he would return texts and emails after hours and on weekends!), and went above and beyond to ensure our home was ready to sell. He responded promptly and professionally to every inquiry from potential buyers, keeping us in-the-loop throughout the process.<br/><br/>We were thrilled to get an offer on our house MUCH faster than we expected! We have Jody Hammond to thank for that!<br/><br/>If you need your house sold in Bangor, don't assume, like we did, that the "big" real estate companies will do a better job. My husband and I have worked with Jody on 6 separate transactions on both the buying and selling side. Yes I said 6! And he has heard us say more than once that "We're not moving again"! Jody's dedication to his clients is refreshing. I remember one night sitting with him at our kitchen table until almost 9 pm writing an offer and he was up early the next morning calling us with updates. His knowledge of all things real estate was extremely helpful to us. We appreciate all that Jody has done for our family and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to buy or sell in the State of Maine!

When we contacted Jody, We did not know what to expect and he made the whole process almost weary free for us. He sat down and explained the whole process and he stated in detail what he could do for us and what steps we needed to do to make the purchase happen. When we went to see the home, he explained the good points and the items that he could see that needed attention and he made sure everything was complete and up to standard before the papers were signed. When and if we purchase another home, Jody Hammond is the person we would ask to represent us through the process because of his knowledge and skills and he would make sure that all details would be taken care of before the papers are signed.
