Haleiwa

Hilo

This is not Hawaii’s biggest tourism draw by any means. And if you want sunny weather, this is not the place for you. In fact, this town gets at least some rain on more than 250 days of the year.

Maunawili

This is another community on Oahu. It has less than 3,000 residents and is located just north of Honolulu so it’s a favourite choice for commuters. Maunawili borders Kailua Beach Park so it’s easy to enjoy Hawaii’s natural wonders in this family-oriented town.

As with other towns in Hawaii, it’s not easy to find affordable real estate in Maunawili. The median home value is $914,400. It’s also a relatively affluent community. The median household income is more than $130,000.
