Jumping into the selling market isn’t something anyone does lightly. First off, there are a lot of checklist items to cross off just to get your house ready to sell! Once you are ready to make the big jump and list your home, however, it’s time to turn it over to a real estate expert. How do you find the best listing agent before selling your home?

Those are great places to find the best listing agent in your area as well! If you ask on social media, be careful. The best listing agents are referred by others, not suggested by themselves. There are many sites that help you locate great agents, but the best way is to hear it from people who have actually worked with the listing agents.


To find people who have worked with top listing agents, reach out to friends and family who have moved recently in your area. Ask them about their agent and experience, and ask if they would recommend their agent to you. Make sure you get specifics. You want to know what made the experience so special and why they are recommending that specific agent.

While you should always work to communicate your concerns with your listing agent, if they are unresolvable, it’s time to fire them and get a new one.
